Job Description

The Roland Berger Advanced Technology Center supports automotive, industrial, and technology clients globally to master the challenges and opportunities that new technologies such as software, electronics, semiconductors, sensors, actuators, energy storage, and quantum computing bring to their businesses and markets. In this context, we are looking to expand our team in the field of lithium-ion battery technology. Together with our clients, we develop successful strategies globally, using deep technological know-how and our understanding of the industry impact – e.g., definition of battery raw material supply chains, business case development for setting up Gigafactories, impact assessment of next generation technologies such as All-Solid-Sate on the LiB value chain as well as market entry strategy for battery recycling.

Qualifications

  • Excellent university degree in automotive or energy storage related studies, e.g. in chemistry, engineering (automotive, process, mechanical, electrical) or physics
  • PhD in technical or chemical lithium-ion battery context or MBA considered as an upside
  • Understanding of battery technology and value chain (e.g., cell chemistry, cell manufacturing, raw material mining and refining, battery recycling) considered as an upside
  • (First) industry experience especially in the field automotive e.g., through working at consulting firms, automotive OEMs, automotive battery suppliers or chemicals companies as well as international exposure considered as an upside
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, entrepreneurial spirit and highly-self driven working style
  • Effective written and oral communication skills for dealing with team members and clients (Fluent English and proficient German language skills)
  • Strong team player with the ability to work in both large and small teams

Recruiting process

In the recruiting process for applicants with up to two years of professional experience, the first step is an analytical test. If this is successful, you will be invited to our selection day. Experienced candidates start directly with the interviews. You will usually have one personality interview and two case interviews on a selection day or during individual appointments agreed with you. In any case, you will receive detailed feedback shortly after the interviews.
If all the interviews are successful, the selection process is rounded off by an interview with a member of our management team.
