Translation Manager (English and Arabic)

Job Description

Roland Berger Middle East is looking for a highly qualified Translation Manager with 10+ years of experience to lead our Translation team. You will have the opportunity to work in a culturally diverse environment and advance your career in an exciting and dynamic workplace. 

Responsibilities:

You will be leading our in-house Translation team and supporting our Consulting staff across multiple industries in translating various specialized material and client deliverables between English and Arabic, including among others PowerPoint presentations, proposals, and marketing materials.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Oversee the translation process from beginning to end and align with project teams on deadlines and translation requirements
  • Coordinate the translation workflow and assign tasks internally or externally based on capacity and timing considerations
  • Take the lead on defining an Arabic tone of voice for Roland Berger
  • Lead the Translation team.  Coach and support your team members
  • Act as a liaison between Roland Berger and translation vendors, conduct quality assurance on the outputs of translation vendors and deliver feedback accordingly
  • Ensure the Translation team deliver high-quality translations and that tasks are completed in a timely fashion and in accordance with industry standards
  • Provide guidance to your team members in researching technical terminology and concepts to deliver suitable translation for complex and specialized business and public-sector topics
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders to understand key concepts and client requirements to ensure accurate translation
  • Ensure your team members collaborate smoothly to support multiple project teams under tight time constraints
  • Undertake high profile or demanding translations
  • Attend selected client meetings and provide interpretation services when required
  • Manage and maintain the Translation Management System (TMS) in place, including translation memories and term bases, to maximize translation efficiency and consistency
  • Conform to Roland Berger’s culture, code of conduct and data confidentiality requirements

    Skills and Requirements:​​​​​​​
  • Flexibility to work in Roland Berger’s office or onsite
  • Highly proficient in spoken and written English and Arabic
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to interact professionally and effectively with team members across all levels of the firm
  • Highly accomplished and skilled linguist with proven relevant experience
  • Strong team management and interpersonal skills and a track record of coaching and managing your team
  • Excellent organizational and prioritization skills and capable of managing large work volumes and multiple assignments in a fast-paced work environment
  • Proactive in flagging issues and suggesting solutions
  • Ability to deliver professional and constructive feedback to your team members and external providers

Qualifications

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in translation, linguistics or equivalent
  • 10+ years of proven relevant experience, including at least 5 years of team management experience ideally in a multinational organization
  • Advanced experience of CAT tools (e.g. Phrase, Trados) essential
  • Proficiency in Outlook, PowerPoint, Word and Excel
