Tax Manager

Job Description

The Tax Manager will be responsible for accurately preparing and filing Zakat, Value Added Tax, and Withholding Tax returns and other documents on a monthly and yearly basis for all GCC entities. The Tax Manager will also identify local tax problems and propose solutions. In addition, the Tax Manager will ensure continuous compliance with local tax laws and regulations.

 

Key Responsibilities:
 

  • Manage and facilitate the accurate preparation and filling of the company’s tax & Zakat returns
  • Ensure compliance with ZATCA, UAE, Bahrain, Qatar tax regulation & law through a series of systems and system controls that are designed to ensure accurate, timely reporting
  • Act as a point-of contact with the local Tax Authority and Tax Advisor, handle and manage and handle regulators’ enquiry, notification requirement, reporting, inspection, and investigation
  • Take ownership on tax validation, data reconciliation, VAT General Ledger accounts review on input tax and output tax and matching with the tax return(s), identify tax compliance issues/ red flags and provide recommendations/ practical solutions
  • Ensure accurate, timely filing of Zakat, Value Added Tax and Withholding Tax returns and other business-related filings
  • Organize tax provisions / accruals in accordance with IFRS
  • Review effective tax rate calculations
  • Ensure country registration and documentation processes are completed timely
  • Manage audit and internal tax reporting requirements
  • Drive implementation of tax accounting/ process automation when required

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Taxation or other related disciplines
  • Accountancy qualification - Chartered Accountant and / or Tax Qualified with experience in a similar role for 5-10 years
  • GCC tax experience
  • Familiar with tax laws in KSA, UAE, Bahrain and Qatar
  • Familiar with local tax systems and portals
  • Demonstrated ability in managing a streamlined communication with multiple stakeholders
  • Ability to work with short deadlines
  • Previous experience with professional services firm is preferable
  • Fluent in Arabic and English
