What you will be doing

As a key member of our esteemed and expanding Transaction & Investor Services team, you will have the opportunity to take the lead on and manage a wide range of projects with abundant opportunities for advancing your professional growth as you navigate through challenging and rewarding industries, clients and projects. You will develop holistic approaches for commercial due diligence in the context of M&A deals as well as for value creation programs for portfolio companies. The Transaction & Investor Services team significantly contributes to the success of Roland Berger's Amsterdam office. Our widespread recognition and extensive network are key factors in our success.

The Transaction & Investor Services team serves a broad scala of top-tier Dutch and European Private Equity and strategic clients. At Roland Berger we differentiate ourselves by listening carefully to our clients and working intensively with them on tailor-made solutions. You will work closely with senior management of clients and their portfolio companies and have the potential to build a robust presence and reputation among the investor community. In addition, Roland Berger offers commercial flexibility allowing you to develop on your own perspectives and approaches.

To support our clients in making the right investment decisions, you will analyze markets and companies, consult industry and functional experts, determine the true value of a target company, and assess equity stories to enhance the value of investments.

You will lead projects that are at the forefront of societal relevance and discourse. We focus on pressing topics that are currently shaping discussions worldwide, such as the energy transition, mobility issues, digitalization, innovative business models and others. 

As a Senior Consultant/Project Manager in the Transaction & Investor Services team at Roland Berger you will:

  • Take the lead for modules in larger projects, and complete project management of projects (typically leading two to four consultants), with a specific focus on commercial due diligence.
  • Coach and develop the consultants in your project teams.
  • Take the lead on client contact and relationships
  • Work closely with industry and functional experts at Roland Berger.
  • Contribute to Roland Berger’s knowledge development
  • Lead office-wide projects (e.g. in-depth studies on current topics) that further develop Roland Berger or its thinking in a specific area or sector.

Do you recognize yourself in the following qualifications, competencies and skills?

  • You have completed an academic university education (i.e. WO).
  • You have between four and ten years of experience in strategy consulting, with a distinct focus on the Transaction & Investor Services domain and having prior involvement with >15 commercial due diligence project being highly advantageous.
  • You can think analytically and structure arguments clearly.
  • You work with precision.
  • You are open-minded.
  • You have experience managing others and delegating work to more junior team members.
  • You are familiar with/experienced in (financial) modeling (Excel), visualizing presentations (PowerPoint) and storytelling.
  • You have good oral, written and presentation skills and an excellent command of the English language.

The application process consists of three parts. Firstly, a selective cognitive assessment that is conducted online and monitored via Microsoft Teams. If you complete the assessment with a satisfactory result, you will be invited to the First round of interviews. This round includes two case interviews and a personal interview. Following a positive outcome from these interviews, candidates will progress to the Final Day. The Final Day involves two (case) interviews with different Partners and/or Principals, as well as a written case with a presentation component. At the conclusion of the Final Day, you will receive feedback on the outcome of your application process.
